ABOUT US

Made up of 15 talented high school students dedicated to exploring entrepreneurship, The Bright Idea Project is pursuing the goal of creating a company which will be an innovative leader in its field. Of the 15 young leaders in our company, 6 have executive roles, while the others are employed under them in task specific jobs .

 

 
President – Alina Lakhani

Alina Lakhani is a grade 12 student at Western Canada High School, and is enrolled in the Full IB program. Outside of school Alina participates in a variety of volunteering initiatives and sports teams as well as band and speech. She is currently in her third year of Junior Achievement and also serves as Junior Achievement Ambassador. Alina has a strong passion for business and hopes to one day start her own medical practice. She hopes that with her dedication to the company and her new ideas, each member of the company will leave the program with new knowledge, skills, and a rewarding experience.

Vice President of Human Resources - Joon Choi

Joon Choi is a grade 12 student at Henry Wise Wood High School. Joon is an outgoing and enthusiastic individual that utilizes his excellent work ethic and organizational skills for the team benefit. Even while balancing Junior Achievement with IB courses and other extra- curricular activities, such as grading/instructing at Kumon Learning Centre, Joon enters the meetings with a bright aura surrounding him. Joon is planning on becoming a biomedical engineer and putting the

entrepreneurship skills developed at Junior Achievement into future use. ​​​​​​​​​​

Vice President of Information Technologies - Chang Chang Chen 

Chang Chang Chen is a grade 12 student currently attending Western Canada High School. She is a unique individual, gifted with her immense passion and technological ability. Chang Chang is extremely social and can easily bring smiles to the faces of her fellow members. She immensely enjoys creating website pages and is eager to assist our company in any way through technological means. 

 

 

 

 

Vice President of Finance – Harry Wu

Harry Wu is a Grade 12 student at Western Canada High School studying in the International Baccalaureate Certificate program. Not only has he been excelling academically, he is also involved in many extra- curricular activities such as Students’ Union, Debate, and his own tax filing entrepreneurial venture. To be so closely involved with the finance of our company, our Vice President of Finance is extremely qualified. Because of the various experience and skills he has acquired in leadership and business calculations from Students’ Union and his tax filing venture, he is extremely suited for this position. Harry is interested in pursuing a career in business, more specifically finance, which makes him even more passionate about his role in the company and willing to put out the extra time and effort to manage the position to the best of his ability.

Vice President of Marketing and Sales – Natalie Thi

Natalie Thi is a bubbly grade 12 student attending Western Canada High School, who recently discovered the marketing world over the summer working as a retail sales associate. Working closely with her managers, she strives to beat sales goals with the help of her friendly and approachable personality followed up with great communication skills. With experience playing club soccer and participating in piano competitions, Natalie has gained knowledge of how to achieve goals through teamwork and self-confidence. Striving to share her knowledge and skills in the salesman field with her fellow company-mates, she hopesto in turn gain valuable experience from the Junior Achievement Company Program.

Vice President of Production – Nathan Lao

Nathan Lao is a grade 12 student at Western Canada High School who is enrolled in the partial IB program. Out of school Nathan participates in several activities such as linkages and various youth leadership initiatives. He is an accomplished squash player who has completed his instructor training, and now serves as squash instructor at the Glencoe Club. Hoping to go into engineering in university, Nathan is extremely passionate about his role as VP of Production, and hope to cultivate many skills through Company Program which will assist him later.​​​​​​​​​​
